Rokas Tomasauskas is a Consultant Anaesthetist and Pain Medicine Specialist at Cambridge University Hospitals Addenbrooke’s NHS Foundation Trust, where he has worked since 2005. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University in 1996 and completed specialist training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Clinics in 2001. He later undertook a Pain Fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospital.

His clinical work focuses on liver and multivisceral transplant anaesthesia and chronic pain medicine. From 2017 to 2023, he served as Clinical Lead for Pain Services at Addenbrooke’s. Since 2022, he has volunteered in Ukrainian hospitals and forward surgical groups, providing anaesthesia care, teaching pain management, and training colleagues in nerve block techniques. He also co-founded the Lithuanian Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Society’s Charitable Fund, which supports war medics in Ukraine. Through the fund, he has helped raise nearly €900,000 and deliver 60 evacuation vehicles, as well as medical equipment and disposable supplies, to Ukraine.
